2024

Alicia’s poem “A Murder of Crows” has been nominated for the 2024 Rhysling Award. The Rhysling Award is awarded to the best science fiction, fantasy, or horror poem published in the preceding year. “A Murder of Crows” is a surreal poem about gender roles, relationships between the animal kingdom and humans, and what it means to be a monster. “A Murder of Crows” was first published in Ice Queen and was reprinted in Roi Fainéant Press.

2023

In 2023, twenty-eight of Alicia’s poems and six of Alicia’s stories were published. Alicia also co-edited the anthology Back 2 OmniPark.

Alicia’s poem “Ode to Harriet” has been nominated for the 2023 SFPA Dwarf Stars Award. The Dwarf Stars Award is given by the Science Fiction & Fantasy Poetry Association to the best speculative poem of 1-10 lines published in the previous year. “Ode to Harriet” explores connections between nature and dreams. The poem was published in AvantAppal(achia) Issue 12.

Alicia’s poem “My Avian Daughter Devours Meteors” has been nominated for the 2023 Rhysling Award. The Rhysling Award is awarded to the best science fiction, fantasy, or horror poem published in the preceding year. “My Avian Daughter Devours Meteors” blends fantasy, horror, and science fiction to tell a strange tale about mothering a monster. The poem was published in Ornithologiae from Egaeus Press.
